In the attempt to participate in the wake of the German Contaflex, Retina Reflex and Bessamatic cameras, Aires society did not, however, find the courage to offer a small system like those German cameras.The Aires Penta 35 offered modest optical accessories that transformed the standard lens to a focal length of 36mm or a focal length 90mm. Solid and well constructed, but without the necessary flexibility, the Aires Penta 35 hardly penetrated the success of other reflex cameras with central shutters offered by its Japanese contemporaries, like the Kowa or the Topcon Unirex.
