La prima fotocamera Canon fu chiamata "KWANON" in onore delle dea buddista giapponese della compassione.
The first 35mm Canon was named "Kwanon" because Yoshida (his project father) was a believer in "Kwannon, the Buddhist Goddess of Mercy." Type: 35mm focal-plane shutter camera Film Format: 24 x 36 mm Standard lenses: Nikkor 50mm f/3.5, 50mm f/2.8, 50mm f/2, 50mm f/4.5 (all lenses provided) Lens Mount: Dedicated bayonet mount with three inner lugs for interchangeable lenses Shutter: Two-axis, horizontal-travel focal-plane shutter with cloth curtains. Lever-controlled dial for 1, 1/2, 1/4, and 1/8 sec., and single-axis rotating dial for Z, 1/20, 1/40, 1/60, 1/100, 1/200, and 1/500 sec. Viewfinder system : rangefinder and separate Galilean pop-up viewfinder.

Different Logo position from CANON J-II ver.1. The Canon J (Junior) has not slow speeds, has been produced as an economic camera, approximately 500 "J II" cameras had been produced. Camera in picture it's probably the 32nd example of the camera produced, and according to Peter Kitchingman (who wrote the Canon Rangefinder Lens book) the lens is the 10th production example (the first 10 were prototypes or pre-production lenses. As this was the first production lens Canon ever made, it's the 10th lens in all of the millions!

Canon IIB
The first Canon camera to incorporate this finder which covers 50 /100/135mm focal lengths, and it was also the first with a die-cast body. A screw head is visible in the centre of the slow speed dial. The baseplate is removable, to allow film loading.This model does not have flash synchronization.
